My top tip is that you need a game plan of how your initial consult is going to run every single time.
Sure, each patient is different, but the structure and how the initial consult runs should be the same every time.
So this includes what is going to be said and how throughout the whole appointment.
Starting from the introduction, to the ending, and right to the farewell once your patient has booked their follow up visits.
And you need to audit this for quality control.
2. OWN THE ROOM
Positioning yourself as this the expert and owning the room is essential.
The first 3 minutes of the initial consults are critical so that you can win the confidence of your patient and lead them in the right direction.
Scripting and practicing a confident tone will make all the difference here.
3. PLAN AHEAD
Your patients come to see you for your opinion and want you to give them a plan that gets them from A to B.
Whether that be written or verbal, make sure that you create a pathway to help your patient get the best possible outcome and present this in a logical and methodical manner at the initial consult.
Then – book it all in in advance.
It makes perfect sense.
